Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Anchorage.

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Anchorage Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

Excellent. Jason took the time to ask me what I wanted to learn and accomplish at or event. He more than accomplished that. He spent time with each person at the session to help and answer their individual needs.

It totally worked for my kind of learning. Jason was attentive and willing to teach with all of us at different levels. He was also very knowledgeable about cameras, camera equipment and how all our different cameras worked. I would definitely take another class with him and would recommend to others.

Jason was extremely knowledgeable and flexible. Very willing to reschedule class due to terrible conditions. And was also willing to have a cup of coffee with us to go over some basics! Excellent teacher! I look forward to the make-up class.

Driving home after out playing with my camera taking photos on my co-workers farm, I drove past this dam. I've never seen it before as I'm still relatively new to this area. I immediately pulled off the side of the road and grabbed my gear. I am a follower of Gary Gough, a fine art photographer on YouTube. He said one way to learn is to copy someone else's work to learn and get better. So that's what I did. LOL. Using his teachings I combined long shutter speeds with ND filters that allowed me t

As part of my final project as a fourth-year photography major, I chose to explore and document Calgary?s sculptures, which embody the history and heritage of its people and landscape. One of the highlights of my work is By the Banks of the Bow, one of the largest sculptural artworks in North America. To enhance the visual impact of the image, I utilized Photoshop, particularly to create a dramatic sky that seamlessly complements the dynamism of the horses and the cowboy. This piece celebrate

This long exposure shot is from August, 2024. I was visiting Liberty State Park, New Jersey. From Liberty park you get such an AMAZING view of the NYC skyline looking across the water. It?s awesome during the day but even more magical at night as you can see. I?d recommend a visit here just for the views to anyone.
