Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Anchorage.

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Excellent. Jason took the time to ask me what I wanted to learn and accomplish at or event. He more than accomplished that. He spent time with each person at the session to help and answer their individual needs.

It totally worked for my kind of learning. Jason was attentive and willing to teach with all of us at different levels. He was also very knowledgeable about cameras, camera equipment and how all our different cameras worked. I would definitely take another class with him and would recommend to others.

It was very nice to get out and meet other photographers and spend time shooting. The wind made it a bit more of a challenge but overall I had a great time

Jason was extremely knowledgeable and flexible. Very willing to reschedule class due to terrible conditions. And was also willing to have a cup of coffee with us to go over some basics! Excellent teacher! I look forward to the make-up class.

Hello hello, I'm Raina, a passionate photographer with a BA in Art and an emphasis in Photography from the University of California, Riverside. Now, I'm lucky enough to call Anchorage, AK home, where I specialize in capturing the breathtaking beauty of the Alaskan landscape and beyond.
Photography has been my lifelong passion, and I truly believe in pushing the boundaries of my craft. From corporate headshots for LinkedIn profiles to traveling the world to document stunning locations, I've had the privilege to explore a variety of photography styles. But nothing beats the magic of nature photography. Whether it's hiking up a mountain at 3:00 am to catch the perfect light or capturing the serenity of an Alaskan sunrise, I believe nature photography offers a connection to the world that words simply can't describe. Let's get out together and shoot some pretty pictures in nature!

High tide was around 2am which meant there would still be plenty of water on the beach in the hour before sunrise. Weather forecast was promising with sun and cloud forecast so I was set for an early start. Up at 5-40am and was in position on the beach just before 5 am. As often happens my best pictures were taken within the first 20 minutes when the light was at its best.
